New CEO for Joy

Ange Barry has been appointed the new CEO of JOY 94.9.

She brings “a breadth of executive leadership experience in both corporate roles and more recently in the broadcasting and not-for-profit sectors.”

Ms Barry has strong skills in a number of areas important to JOY’s future, including growth strategy design, development and implementation, income generation and planning. 

JOY 94.9 President, Melinda Rich says: “JOY is delighted to announce Ange Barry as the new CEO.  Ange has an impressive and diverse background with a range of skills that make her the right person to lead JOY over the coming years. Specifically, Ange has previously been the General Manager of a Melbourne-based community radio station, has led significant income generation activity in the not-for-profit sector, and is a qualified accountant. 

“I would like to thank James Hamilton for leading the team at JOY as Interim CEO over the past few months, particularly through our critical Radiothon fundraising period.”

JOY 94.9 carried out an extensive and thorough recruitment process, including on radioinfo’s jobs page, with Ms Barry selected from a strong field of candidates.

Ange Barry will begin on 5th August 2019.
