A new ABC podcast about Aussies who do things differently

Fierce Girls tells the stories of inspiring women and girls.

From athletes to aviators, authors to activists and scientist to spies, Fierce Girls tells the story of inspiring women such as World War II spy, Nancy Wake; nine-time Paralympic gold medallist, Louise Sauvage; and the 16-year-old who sailed solo around the world, Jessica Watson

Aimed and primary school girls, the series is narrated by athlete and humanitarian Turia Pitt; journalist and presenter Leigh Sales; journalist and presenter Lisa Wilkinson; actor Madison Lu; six-time world champion surfer Stephanie Gilmore; and actor Justine Clarke.

‘Sometimes at the ABC you get to work on a project so special you can’t believe your luck,’ says ABC Audio Studios Manager, Kellie Riordan.

‘This project is one fo those. In a world where girls are fed a diet of princesses, unicorns and celebrity gossip, it’s more important than ever they have access to stories of brave, heroic and mighty women of all ages.’

Launching ahead of International Women’s Day 2018, the first three episodes of Fierce Girls are available on the ABC listen app and Apple Podcasts.
