Murdoch wins Radio Channel in Denmark

Rupert Murdoch’s Skyradio submitted the winning bid in this week’s historic auction of Denmark’s fifth nation wide radio channel.

Murdoch-owned Skyradio will now operate Denmark’s new nationwide radio channel, FM5.

Skyradio won the honour for Danish KK54 million (7 million Euros), outbidding seven other interested media companies at the Culture Ministry’s auction, which was held at Bruun Rasmussen in Copenhagen.

A sixth radio channel was won by Dutch company Talpa, which bid Danish KK22.5 million (3 million Euros).
