MIX up in Canberra Survey

Radio station MiX106.3 is the number 1 station in the ACT for the first time in
history according to the latest radio audience survey released today by Neilsen
Media Research.

MiX106.3
improved its audience share to record 20.4% of all listening. Hot on its heels
is Canberra’s other FM music station FM104.7 recording 19.1%.

General
Manager of Canberra FM Radio (operator of both FM104.7 & MiX 106.3), Eoghan
O’Byrne
, told radioinfo “it is great to see both stations retaining the No. 1 & 2
positions. The absolute highlight of this survey is to see MiX106.3 take the
number one position, with FM104.7 following close behind. This continues both
stations dominance in the Canberra Radio Market.”

O’Byrne said that he was not at all disappointed with the FM104.7 result, “I’m very proud of their commitment as they’ve gone through some major changes in breakfast with The Mob having replaced Marty and Erica who’ve moved to i98 in Wollongong.

“They were an institution in Canberra while The Mob is new and edgier in a conscious effort to bring the age of the audience down by about five years.

“I’m over the moon that MIX has gone to number one”, said O’Byrne, “And I couldn’t be happier that our stations finished 1 & 2”.
