92.7 Mix FM staff and the Sunshine Coast community are in shock as Mix FM Announcer Todd Widdicombe was repeatedly punched live on air during an outside broadcast.

Todd and his on air partner Sami were broadcasting LIVE from Caloundra for the launch night of the Caloundra Fringe Festival.

Todd was on a wireless mic setup conducting interviews along the boardwalk of the Caloundra Fringe Festival, among the crowd, when he was king-hit from behind and set upon.

A male suspect was later arrested and is now assisting police with inquiries.

Sorry to hear Todd but this is going to happen MORE often to presenters. Stop OB's unless 2 security men are there all the time. We were repeatedly threatened at the Sydney Royal Easter Show by hooligans and no Back-up. Believe me this will increase over time.
