Mick Molloy will return to Austereo next year, hosting weekday mornings 10:00am – 12:00am on Triple M Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne from 19 January.

“If you’ve had a laugh with Triple M this year, next year’s looking even funnier,” Group Program Director Jeff Allis told radioinfo.

“We’ve already introduced new shows such as The Cage and The Whole Shebang – which our listeners are responding to very positively.

“Mick’s one of Australia’s favourite comic talents and his new show will add a lot of life to the mid-morning timeslot. If you’re looking for some comedy,
there’s not a lot of choice for listeners right now – it’s basically hit music, old music or talkback.

“We believe there’s a lot of listeners out there who don’t want to get too
serious
or too heavy at that time of day – they just want to be entertained, and that’s
what Triple M’s all about next year.”

Austereo chairman Peter Harvie is known to be a fan of the work Molloy did with Tony Martin for the Today network when Martin & Molloy hosted drive. Some time ago Harvie told radioinfo Martin & Molloy are “great talents who got people talking about radio, and more importantly buying it.”
