McCrossin and Trioli confirmed for ABC702 Sydney

As predicted on radioinfo, 702 ABC Manager Roger Summerill has announced that Julie McCrossin and Virginia Trioli will join 702 ABC Sydney.

Julie McCrossin will present 702 Breakfast from 5.30am to 9.00am, and Virginia Trioli will present 702
Mornings from 9.00am till noon.

McCrossin is expected to start at 702 within the next few weeks, with a starting date for Trioli yet to be confirmed.

Both women are experienced broadcasters and media identities. With many years of industry experience.

Julie McCrossin, currently presenter of Life Matters on ABC Radio National, is perhaps best known for
co-hosting the media quiz show Good News Week. She has qualifications in Arts, Education and the Law,
and is a member of the NSW Medical Board and the Board of SCEGGS Darlinghurst. She has also worked
as a Sydney bus driver.

A two-time Walkley Award winner, Virginia Trioli has been the voice of Drive on 774 ABC Melbourne since
2001. She has worked as a journalist with The Bulletin and as a news reporter, features writer, assistant
news editor and columnist with The Age, establishing a reputation as a strong independent voice on politics,
social issues and the arts.

Trioli wrote ‘Generation F: Sex, Power and the Young Feminist’ in 1995 as a
riposte to Helen Garner’s First Stone. In 1995 she won Australian journalism’s highest honour, the Walkley
Award, for business reporting and another in 2001 for her interview with former Defence Minister Peter Reith
over the “children overboard” issue. Trioli has also been awarded a Melbourne Press Club Quill Award for
Best Columnist.
