This morning KIIS 101.1‘s Matt Tilley climbed 88 levels of the Eureka Tower and raised over 100K $(103, 840 to be precise) for Melbourne’s homeless.
Matt & Jane’s Step Up for the Salvos saw Matt carry 40kgs on his back and in under 90mins climb the 1642 steps of the Eureka tower; the largest residential building in the world, with ease.
Melbourne listeners and sponsors pulled together to donate a whopping $103,840 to help the Salvos support the 22,789 Victorians that are homeless.
KIIS 101.1 drive co-host Hughesy couldn’t believe Matt made it to the top with 40KGs on his back adding “You are a fit Man.”
Matt Tilley said his inspiration was the homeless – “I was thinking about those who’d been sitting in the cold all night and who had been for days and months. Well done to everyone who donated.”
