Marto and Ed’s ultimate lend a hand

This year 104.5 Triple M Brisbane is getting behind the 2016 Channel NINE Telethon to help raise money for The Children’s Hospital Foundation. The target this year is $11 million.

The renovation of Nundah Cottages as part of the Channel NINE Telethon will provide exceptional facilities and equipment to give infants, young children and their families the best possible mental health care services.

Triple M’s Marto and Ed will be making the call out for volunteer contractors, labourers and suppliers to join Marto’s Army in helping makeover Nundah Cottages – the biggest “Lend a Hand” to date.

Children’s Hospital Foundation Queensland chief executive officer Cameron Prout said: “It’s wonderful to see so many people in the community getting behind this year’s Channel Nine Telethon.”

Former Blockheads, Ayden Hogan will be Project Managing the makeover and will call upon fellow Queenslanders, Michael and Carlene Duffy to assist with planning and design.

The goals for the makeover are:

  • to provide a warm and welcoming space for families attending the clinic during difficult period of their lives
  • to build new group therapy rooms, to accommodate more patients and families, in a bigger and more interactive space.
  • to build four new clinical rooms for the Qld Centre for Perinatal and Infant Mental Health.
  • to develop a new playground and sensory garden, offering a fun and interactive space to receive therapy.

“Without the support from the community, we could not continue our work to help sick kids across Queensland,” Prout says.

On Saturday 19 November, Channel NINE will air the Nundah Cottages Reveal during the Telethon, to be simulcast on 104.5 Triple M from 7.00pm to 10.00pm.
