Mark Spurway says goodbye to Aunty

Veteran of both commercial and ABC radio, Mark Spurway has decided to leave the ABC after 14 years as Head of Transmission.

During his time at the national broadcaster Mr Spurway oversaw the transition from analog to the digital television, the implementation of 71 new regional NewsRadio network FM services and  introduced DAB+ in the five metropolitan markets with another three markets planned over the next six months in Canberra, Darwin and Hobart.

With his last day this Friday, he said, “It has been a privilege to work at the ABC with such great people.”

Mr Spurway will be setting up my own consulting and contracting business, Sandmark. Those who know Mark, would guess that the  “Sand” part is for his wife, Sandy Aloisi who also has a long and distinguished career in radio. She is currently reading Breakfast News on the ABC News radio channel.

Mr Spurway can be contacted at his new email address  [email protected]
