Macquarie News disappeared on the first day of 2020, replaced by Nine News.
A number of stations were caught on the hop with outdated promos and news themes for Macquarie going to air during the day, and even Sydney’s 2GB were running half hour headlines titled ‘Macquarie News Headlines’.
The news theme is the Nine News theme, though some stations outside of the network have retained their own news themes.
Sooner than later all stations across Australia will sound the same. Gone is individuality and local ID. Probably more amd.more networking like NZ stations.
