With the imminent departure of Content Director Leigh Kuhlmann, K rock 95.5 has secured the services of ‘hit92.9’ Assistant Content Director and Announcer James Speed.
‘Speedy’ goes to Geelong with over 14 years of radio experience, with on-air and senior operations roles with SCA stations in Perth, Adelaide and Newcastle and will take over K rock Content Director duties on August 14th.
Looking forward to the interstate move, James Speed shared “I am very excited to be joining such a great team at K rock in Geelong, by far one of the most local radio stations in Australia, I can’t wait to get stuck into it with the team.
“It’s a great station with a lot of personality and I’ve heard nothing but good things about the hard-working team behind it.”
K rock will say goodbye to long time Content Director and Departure Lounge Co-host Leigh Kuhlmann this Friday.
“The last 7 years have been the best and most fulfilling of my radio career. It has been such a privilege to help build what I believe is one of the most dynamic and creative radio stations in the country.
“I will look on from a distance at the next evolution of K rock and will remember my time as some of the best of my life…”
On the changes to the lineup, Andy Mathers, General Manager applauds his long serving K rock CD. “I want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Leigh for his outstanding creative and leadership contribution to K rock over the past seven years; ‘Speedy’ has some big shoes to fill, literally! Kuhlmann is a huge unit! He’s a champion bloke, who will be missed by all.
“Welcome to the team Speedy, we’re all looking forward to working with you.”
