KOFM rebrands to Bruce FM

After 86 years one of Newcastle’s oldest radio brands has changed… for one day only.

2KO commenced broadcasting in 1931, only changing its name slightly in 1992 when it became KOFM…but this morning at 9am KOFM’s Tanya and Steve flicked the switch and relaunched the station as 1029 BRUCE FM.

For one day only BRUCE FM will celebrate the Bruce Springsteen mega show at Hope Estate in the Hunter Valley, with all of Bruce’s awesome music, including some choice live tracks. The Bruce FM Bruce Patrol will be visiting Bruce Streets right across the Hunter, Plus Bruce FM is giving away the very last tickets to the show.

The entire line up helped celebrate with Bruce Wilks and Bruce Graham for breakfast, followed by Bruce Ryan, the legendary Bruce Simpson and even Bruce FM’s local drive show with Bruce Blanch.

Bruce FM’s Content Director Bruce Byrne said, “Our loyal Bruce FM Club members have been going nuts for tickets to Bruce’s show, so it just made sense to give over the entire station for one day ahead of his amazing show in the Hunter Valley. For those who, like us, hold the KOFM brand dearly, fear not! We’ll flick the switch back to KOFM at 6pm”.
