KOFM has managed to raise $20,000 on the first day of it’s annual charity campaign, Give Me 5 for Kids.
This year the station is raising money to help children undergoing treatment at the John Hunter Children’s Hospital.
Last year $56,000 was raised which helped provide Air / Oxygen Blenders for the neonatal intensive care unit. These devices help ensure that the babies receive the correct amount of oxygen.
KOFM launched Give me 5 for Kids 2017 yesterday with ‘Tanya & Steve’s Bucket Bus’, a live broadcast from a bus, stopping at various businesses around Newcastle and The Hunter to collect donations.
A network-wide charity initiative, Give Me 5 for Kids raised $2.3 million nationwide last year.
