Jolyon Petch is in dreamland: AirCheck

Chart Highlights    22 July 2021

  • Heating Up: Jolyon Petch’s ‘Dreams’ catapults to No. 5
  • High Point: The Kid Laroi & Justin Bieber rise to No. 3 with ‘Stay’
  • Biggest Mover: Dua Lipa finds ‘Love Again’, climbing 29 frames

Jolyon Petch’s rework of the Fleetwood Mac classic ‘Dreams’ is turning heads across Australian radio, rising 9 frames to No. 5 on the AirCheck National Radio Airplay Chart. The New Zealand-born DJ had particularly strong support from The Edge Sydney and the national Nova network, collectively contributing just under half of the track’s total spins.

It’s week number 2 for The Kid Laroi & Justin Bieber as the pair claim a new peak at No. 3 with collab ‘Stay’, up 7 spots. The track had a 40.3% boost in spins to 814, the second-biggest increase behind Dua Lipa’s ‘Love Again’, which bounces back into the chart at No. 33 and earns its seventh week on the chart.

The No. 1 spot once again goes to heavy-hitter Ed Sheeran. ‘Bad Habits’ shed 111 spins with Nova cooling off substantially, but both KIIS stations and 101.9 The Fox upped their support to fend off Vance Joy’s advances. ‘Missing Piece’ sits only 71 spins off the chart’s summit at No. 2 and looks likely to duke it out with Sheeran for the top spot over the coming weeks.

Finally, the TikTok-inspired revival of Boney M’s ‘Rasputin’ keeps gaining momentum at radio with the Majesticrework bowing at No. 11 from No. 15. Nova continues to champion the track, with B105 and 101.9 The Foxincreasing their support this week.
