Jay Walkerden confirmed as Nova Brisbane GM

Jay Walkerden has been appointed General Manager of Nova 106.9 in Brisbane. He has been acting in the role since Sean Ryan left last year.

With over 20 years radio experience, Walkerdon joined NOVA Entertainment in July 2011 as Nova 106.9 Program Director and in July 2014 took on the additional responsibility of acting General Manager for the Brisbane station.

He has extensive programming and management experience within Australia and internationally.

Starting his radio career as an announcer at Austereo in January 1993, Jay was promoted to various roles within the network during his 14 year tenure, including APD for Melbourne’s Fox FM and Sydney’s 2day FM and Program Director for Perth’s 92.9. In 2007 Jay become Global Media’s Group Programme Controller for the South East region and in September 2010 he returned to Australia as Group Programming Director for MCM Media.

Jay will occupy the dual roles of Nova 106.9 General Manager and Program Director effective immediately.
