Jason Pine appointed Content Manager SENZ

Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) has appointed Jason Pine as its NZ Content Manager for the soon to launch SENZ 24/7 sports talk radio stations.

The former Operations Manager and Sports Reader Newstalk ZB Wellington, Pine had been with TRN/NZME for 28 years and says he is thrilled to take up the role with SENZ. “I am absolutely buzzing to get started with SENZ and to help bring to life a unique and compelling radio station for New Zealand sports fans.”

“It’s not very often you get the opportunity to build a radio station from scratch for such a passionate, knowledgeable audience.  We have big plans for SENZ and with Brendon McCullum already locked in to host the breakfast show and other high-quality broadcasters to be announced, our listeners are in for a treat!”

SN announced its plans to expand into New Zealand last week with the acquisition of 29 TAB NZ AM/FM radio licences and the signing former New Zealand Test captain Brendon McCullum as headline talent.

SEN Radio Director Australia and New Zealand Sam Thompson says she was delighted to welcome Jason to the team. “Jason is hugely respected as one of the best in the business so we are thrilled that he will join our team in bringing SENZ to market.

“During his time at TRN/NZME he has been Operations Manager, Sports Reader, Wellington All Sport Breakfast Host, Radio Sport Mornings Host, Classic Hits Breakfast Host and Commentator and we are fortunate to have him.”

SENZ will establish radio studios in Auckland and Wellington and will produce local sports content from both studios.

The acquisition of the licences is subject to conditions.
