Jason Matthews leaves Central Coast for Gold Coast

Jason Matthews is returning to the Gold Coast as Program Director for RG Capital’s Gold Coast Radio Centre, replacing Ross Turner, who recently resigned. Matthews will also take on the role of Assistant Group Program Director for Sea FM stations around the country.

For the past three years, Matthews has been working as Program Director with RG Capital on the NSW Central Coast, but is pleased to be returning to the Gold Coast for this move.

He leaves Gosford just before the new Central Coast DMG station is about to be launched.

Matthews told radioinfo: “I’m looking forward to new challenges that will come working here. The Gold Coast is a vibrant market and an exciting environment to work in. But I’m just as keen to come back because I love the climate, the beaches, and the relaxed attitude of Gold Coast people.

“I really feel like I’m coming home, so I expect a big welcome back party when I arrive!”

Nick Scott, General Manager of the Gold Coast Radio Centre is “excited” to have Matthews back. “He’s an enthusiastic and passionate person, who gets on well with the team. Jason’s also one of the most senior programming executives in the group,” he told radioinfo.

Jason Matthews won Commercial Radio Australia awards in 2001 and 2002 for Program Director of the Year. He completed the AFTRS Radio Programmers Course in its first year and also holds an associated diploma in sales and marketing. He is now a mentor in the AFTRS PD Course.
