Jase & PJ conquer marathan 12-hour mini golf tournament

Previous successes include a 25-hour hug.

KIIS 101.1 breakfast duo Jase & PJ’s recent non-stop mini golf challenge is the latest endurance test the co-hosts have conquered.

Since joining forces on air three years ago, the pair have successfully completed a 25 hour hug, continuously broadcast in radio marathons for 51 hours, 52 hours and 53 hours respectively, and most recently attempted to undertake a non-stop table tennis rally for 20 delirious hours – so their latest attempt might be the easiest they’ve come across.

Tasked with each getting a hole in one on every round of the 18 hole course, the radio duo successfully completed the marathon last night in just over 12 hours, in a testament to their dedication to overcome sleep deprivation, hunger and hilarious monotony.

After they completed their live breakfast show on Thursday morning, Jase & PJ went to their local mini golf course to attempt the feat. They started strong, both hitting a hole in one for the first three holes in under an hour, but the repetition soon took its toll.

When PJ was on a roll, Jase wasn’t, and vice versa, but nonetheless they steadily made their way through the course in solid timing until they got to the 15th hole – that was when things took a turn for the worse.

Dubbed the ‘impossible’ hole by a semi-professional golfer, Jase & PJ spent one and a half arduous hours attempting to each sink a hole in one. Delirium was setting in, and if it wasn’t for a fluke shot by Jase which got them both pumped to continue, it would have been only a matter of time before they both put down their clubs.

Expecting to stay up all night into the early hours of the morning, the radio hosts were pleasantly surprised when they completed the course by 9pm that night – just enough time to get some shut eye for their 4am wake up call.

Jason ‘Jase’ Hawkins said: “Competing in the Olympics seemed like way too much work and I only won participation awards at high school so I knew this is as close as I’d get to being a sporting legend.”
