It’s going to be a Pyne Time on PodcastOne

Prime ministers, political journalists and a comedian, Christopher Pyne will speak to all of them in his new podcast series Pyne Time on PodcastOne Australia.

The former Australian Defence Minister served for twenty-six years in the Australian House of Representatives having been first elected in 1993, at aged twenty-five and now he is going behind the mic to use his unique charm, humour and interviewing skills to chat with Prime Ministers, Journalists, Media personalities and Business leaders.

Finally, Christopher gets to turn the tables, from being the guest that had to have all the answers, to the one that gets to unearth the stories that have never been told before.

The first, six-part podcast series, is the latest offering from PodcastOne Australia network.

Head of Podcasting for PodcastOne Australia, Grant Tothill says, “Christopher Pyne had an incredible political career, spanning a quarter of a century, and was well-known for his quick wit and banter. After several meetings, I too understood the effect he has on people – something I like to call ‘the Pyne effect’.

“We knew he would be a compelling interviewer with his own unique style and could bring his knowledge and skills to a completely different medium – the world of podcasting.

“We’re delighted to have the Pyne Time Series as part of our network and I’m sure once people hear the podcast, they’ll find them engaging, interesting and thought-provoking stories that definitely show a different side of Christopher and his guests.”

Christopher Pyne says, “Until I was asked to do Pyne Time, I thought podcasting had something to do with shelling peas, now I realise I wasted twenty-six years of my life in Parliament – I should have been doing this long ago. It’s a fun series, my guests get into the spirit of the podcast and have fun. I’m already looking forward to the second series – assuming I don’t get boned.”

In episode one, Pyne speaks to his “unlikely friend”, Project host and comedian Peter Helliar about their relationship and Peter’s interest in politics.

Pyne Time will be available on the PodcastOne Australia network from Monday October 14.
