Introducing Apple Podcasts subscriptions

Creators in more than 170 countries and regions can now offer premium subscriptions on Apple Podcasts, which will be accessible to listeners next month.

This will allow creators to set monthly pricing for each subscription, define the benefits, such as ad-free listening, early or exclusive access to new series, or access to additional or archival content, as well as offering annual billing and providing free trials and sample episodes.

There is an annual fee to enroll in the new Apple Podcasters Program which provides access to all of the tools required to build and distribute premium subscriptions on Apple Podcasts.

Also beginning today is an updated Apple Podcasts Connect dashboard, which includes new features that make it easier to manage content on Apple Podcasts.

With this new version creators can now create channels, which are groups of shows that can be personalised with unique titles, descriptions, and artwork.

Additionally, it is now possible to view and edit podcast metadata, schedule and manage show availability for each country and region, and organize shows into channels right from the dashboard.

Analytics allows an insight into how listeners are engaging with shows through new performance metrics and visualisation tools, such as engaged listeners, listeners by city, and the new episodes performance graph.

Apple Podcasts Connect also now offers a robust system for managing multiple users and roles, making it easy to invite collaborators to manage subscriptions, channels, and shows.
