I don’t like being lied to: Hadley to Treasurer Scott Morrison

Ray Hadley has dumped Federal Treasurer Scott Morrison from a regular Monday chat segment, because he felt Morrison’s office did not tell him the truth about where Morrison would be at the regular planned time this week.

At the time he was scheduled to do his regular chat with Hadley, the Treasurer was on air on ABC Radio Melbourne with Jon Faine. The Faine chat went for about 20 minutes, between about 9:05 to 9:25, where he talked about the upcoming budget, housing affordability and state government funding.

Hadley told his listeners this morning:

I don’t think I’ll waste my time having Scott Morrison on the program every Monday.

Listeners have been saying to me for the last 12 months, he doesn’t say anything… I made the point maybe one day he will say something…

So this is what’s happened… on Friday afternoon my Executive Producer spoke to Mr Morrison’s office…

[They said] the Treasurer will be travelling on Monday so won’t be able to speak with Ray, you can change to Tuesday of you like.

I said it’s Monday or nothing… (Producer) John then said we’ll give it a miss, have a good weekend…

We are told (in a media release) that he’s appearing… on ABC Melbourne interviewed by Jon Faine…

The regular chat with the Treasurer is now abandoned. He can seek someone else out to have a talk to, because I’m afraid I don’t like being lied to…

Meanwhile Morrison was blissfully unaware of the Hadley decision to dump him while chatting to Faine on ABC Radio Melbourne.
