Singer, actor and regular on Nova 969’s Fitzy and Wippa show, Johhny Ruffo is about to tick off another event on his long bucket list – stand up comedy.
 
So to give him a few pointers before he goes live in front of an audience, Fitzy and Wippa brought in a ‘comedy consultant’ in Dave Hughes.
 
Hughesy, who since splitting with on air partner Kate Langbroek and their enormously successful Nova 100 breakfast show last year, has been doing his own stand up routine to sell out crowds across the nation.

He said he came in to the studio this morning ‘hoping to see Johnny die’, because comedians want to see competitors fail. But he was actually impressed with the jokes he heard. 


As they say about a comic’s material: If the audience laughs, it’s comedy. If they don’t, it’s art.
