How to retain great people by investing in them

Here are three tips from Daryl Mitchell

 1.Train

Support your people with regular, relevant training and support.

Identify the skills that will give people personal growth, experiences and run sessions based on these skills.

In a world that has so many distractions, I believe in keeping the sessions short, weekly 1 Hour sessions with clear outcomes, that start and end on time!

Make training engaging, set a frame work with the expectation that there will be individual feedback expected from all at the end of the session.

 2. Retrain

Don’t fall for the trap that you will retain knowledge in one session, repeat the skill with regular sessions on the same topic.

Learnings are the key outcome, this can only occur in a ‘safe to fail’ culture. Discuss test & learn experiences in  your training sessions. 

 3. Retain

Invest in your people and they will invest in you.
