The lucky winner of KIIS 101.1 Matt and Meshel’s ‘Spend $20,000 in 20 minutes on Chapel Street’ competition, Katrina Scuruchi blew the budget with just two minutes.

After being announced as the winner, the 24-year-old hairdresser did the ultimate ‘Chap lap’ and had the enviable task of racing down Chapel Street in a rickshaw visiting as many stores as she could to spend the cash on the time limit.
 
Complete with travelling countdown clocks on a truck and screens hitched on the back of two roving followers to countdown the 20 minute timer, the winner was accompanied by a fake accountant who was tasked with calculating her spending all while cutting across the traffic to visit a handful of shopping destinations.
 
Her first stop was Flight Centre where she booked a trip to Europe complete with a Contiki Tour before heading out with her ‘accountant’ to splurge the cash on furniture shops, retail and cosmetic brands.
 
“I’m shaking – it was such an incredible experience. I am just so thankful for being chosen! I can’t believe I got it all done under 20 minutes and got everything I needed.”
 
Imagine choosing two couches for your new apartment inside a minute and just picking a dresser out of nowhere, well, that is exactly what Katrina did in West Elm.

Then it was a quick ride across the road to Matt Blatt for a coffee table and dining set for her brand new home she is moving into.

Every girl’s dream came true when Katrina walked into MAC cosmetics and managed to buy every single shade of lipstick.

Katrina wasn’t stopping there! She purchased TEN pairs of shoes and heaps of accessories from Tony Bianco before heading to Zimmerman for five pairs of new bathers as well as two gowns.

Now that is $20,000 well spent.
