Hot FM Queensland launch #givebloodforbrayd

Two weeks ago, Toowoomba was devastated by the death of 23-year-old boxer Braydon Smith.
 
Whilst the family have set out on a long term campaign to get a Neurosurgeon to Toowoomba, Hamish and Tanya at Hot FM Queensland are encouraging listeners to help out in the short term too by donating blood.
 
Brayd always wanted to donate blood, but could not himself. James O’Shea, a family friend said “Brayd was a giving person, he always wanted to give blood, however he was unable too and disappointed he couldn’t”.
  
Bernadette Dias, Communications Advisor for the Red Cross Blood Service, Queensland said. “We need to find at least 118 people to give blood in Toowoomba to boost vital blood stocks for cancer patients over the Easter long weekend, especially Monday April 6th. But the need for blood never stops and every donation will help save three lives”.
 
The Toowoomba blood bank has contacted Hamish and Tanya, saying that there has already been a response to their campaign, just 24 hours in.
