Hot Breakfast team – all to be revealed soon!

UPDATE: Wil Anderson replaces Molloy

The question on Melbournian lips: WHO will replace Mick Molloy on Triple M’s Hot Breakfast looks set to be revealed soon.

“At 8am … Mick will reveal who is taking over from him on Triple M Melbourne’s Hot Breakfast when he heads to the Drive shift from next month in Melbourne and nationally in 2018 with Jane Kennedy,” Triple M’s publicist has told radioinfo.

radioinfo last month reported that comedian Wil Anderson was strongly tipped to fill the gap on the popular show.

Anderson, who presented the National Drive show on Triple M from 2007 to 2009, was quoted as saying, “I always thought that Mick Molloy had the best job and when I saw that he was leaving I did sit by my phone and go, well, you can call me about this one if you want to call me about one because I think that this is probably the perfect job.

“You get in by 7am, you are done by 9am and you are on a show where you are not doing the heavy lifting,” he said.

He then went on to make a personal appeal to the gatekeepers, saying,  “Eddie McGuire, Luke Darcy, Guy Dobson, Mike FitzpatrickGrant Blackley …. I can be convinced, I can be convinced guys.”

Triple M has kept its cards close to its chest, its Head of Content, Mike Fitzpatrick telling Melbourne’s Herald Sun some time ago, “It is the time of year when everyone starts moving the chess pieces.”

That leaves one piece of the jigsaw of musical chairs to be filled: who will replace Hamish Blake and Andy Lee, who are in the final few months of their national drive show on FOX FM?
