Harvey Norman is the top brand in Australia

 As 2019 comes to a close, AirCheck Australia compared the top advertisers since the beginning of the year.
 
Harvey Norman was the most played brand on Australian radio this year with 202,233 ads placed across 54 stations. Nova Entertainment owned Star 104.5 on the Central Coast aired the most Harvey Norman ads during this time, accounting for 15,166 spots.

AirCheck Client Services Executive, Riarne Gale said: “Since the beginning of the year, 9,348,569 ads ran on Australian radio, comprising over 18,000 brands for 2000 advertisers in 200 categories. Over 1.3 million spots were credits or sponsorships.”

National Tiles took out second place airing 118,454 spots over 37 stations. Not too far behind was Domayne in third place with 116,848 instances heard across 42 stations. Newcastle’s NewFM aired the most ads for the brand with 15,752 spots going to air.

Melbourne sport station SEN aired more ads than any other station this year, with 260,874 spots placed, closely followed by Macquarie Media stations 2GB and 3AW airing 235,652 and 228,537 ads respectively.

The top New Brand of the year was ‘Department of the Treasury’ with over 10,000 ads going to air for the Taxation Office’s Better for You campaign.

After beginning monitoring DAB+ radio during the second half of this year, over 1.6 million advertisements were tracked, with Coles in the top spot airing over 56,000 spots on digital radio alone. 
 
These spots also propelled the category ‘Food Stores & Supermarkets’ into the top spot, ahead of ‘Cars & Trucks’ and ‘Banking & Financial Services’.
