Hamish and Andy’s return to the airwaves

Hamish & Andy are back on radio July 13th, and to celebrate a launch party is being thrown.

Stations from within SCA’s Hit Stream around the country are offering listeners a chance to get on the invite only list and join Hamish and Andy aboard a boat on Sydney harbour on Monday July 13.

Hamish & Andy will broadcast their show live from the party where they’ll be joined by the winning listeners – plus some special guest musical performances.

The pair were lured back to the airwaves for a reported $4 million each.

Hamish and Andy won’t join the race for national FM Drive supremacy for another month but already radio industry pundits have had their say via an exclusive radioinfo poll started in late May.

Meantime a campaign to welcome Hamish & Andy back to drive launches this Sunday.

The multi-dimensional marketing campaign includes TV, transit media, digital, online and social as well as out of home advertising which is Shazamable – allowing users to Shazam the adshel posters to discover even more Hamish & Andy content in a media first. The billboards are already up in some outdoor sites today.

SCA, Head of Marketing and Communications, Nikki Clarkson explains, “This new campaign launches Hamish & Andy back into national drive around the country in a big way. We have a multi-tiered campaign with a strong focus on creating awareness for their return to drive and further engagement through mobile and digital.”

As mentioned the boys will officially be back on air from July 13 (but secretly a week earlier), driving you home live from 4 – 6pm across 42 hit Network Stations Australia wide.

Social media buzz has already begun in the lead up to their on air return. On the duo’s facebook page, which has 2 million fans, comments are coming in thick and fast each time they post something about their return to the SCA airwaves.
