Hamish and Andy Launch iPhone App

Is there nothing that this dynamic duo isn’t into? Last week Hamish and Andy’s Tall Ship Adventure smashed all online records for the show and then they took their podcast, already number one radio podcast on the net, to the hottest mobile platform around, the iPhone.

The iPhone Application will allow fans to download the Hamish & Andy podcasts directly and listen to them on their iPhone. According to an Austereo spokesperson, “Hamish & Andy currently hold the number 1 online podcast spot, with over 1.2 million downloads a month and now this gives people the opportunity to listen to the podcasts via their iPhone from anywhere at no cost.

Meanwhile, Hamish & Andy’s Tall Ship Adventure, which saw the boys with their crew of 8 lucky listeners on a Tall Ship headed to Tasmania, smashed all online records on the Hamish & Andy web site.

On the second day of their voyage, for the first time ever, the national Hamish & Andy web site, beat the 1 million mark with 1,265,128 page impressions in just one day, demonstrating that their Tall Ship Adventure created great interest and the photos uploaded from the voyage were a must-be-seen-to-be-believed.

However, just the next day, on the third day of Hamish & Andy’s Tall Ship Adventure, the Hamish & Andy web site smashed it’s own record – with an astronomical 2,653,673 page impressions in just 24 hours.

To put that into perspective, the Hamish & Andy web site on an average day would receive approximately 150,000 page impressions per day.

In total, Hamish & Andy’s Tall Ship Adventure generated over 9.3 million page impressions and over 100,000 unique browsers in one week (w/c 2 March) – the highest result ever for UBs and PIs in the history of Austereo online. The average user session for this week was 5 minutes and 24 seconds which is also a very impressive result, demonstrating that the videos uploaded from the voyage were bringing people to the national Hamish & Andy web site and keeping them there for a considerable amount of time.
