Hamish and Andy go from SYN to Seven

Two 22 year old university students, who have been hosting a radio program on SYN FM, have been headhunted by the Seven Network to present their own national comedy program.

Apart from radio, Hamish Blake and Andy Lee have been hosting ‘Radio Karate’, produced at RMITV and broadcast on Channel 31 in Melbourne. Recently, they shared an award for Best Comedy program on community television’s inaugural night of nights, The Antennas.

They say their Seven Network show will be before a live audience, combining sketch comedy with stand up routines.

Blake and Lee join a long list of people, over many years, who have honed their talents and skills in community media and then been poached by Australia’s networks.

When first contacted by Seven’s producers, Lee hung up, believing it to be a prank, but the deal was done and Seven has commissioned them to make 13 episodes of ‘Hamish and Andy’.
