Hadley to work overtime to cover for Jones

Sunday 12 February, 2017

Alan Jones was supposed to be back on breakfast at 2GB by now.

But a third round of surgery has left him laying low which means it could be several weeks or longer before the 73 year old is back on air.

Till now Chris Smith has been filling in on breakfast while his regular afternoon shift has most recently been hosted by Mark Levy.

With survey season well under way, Ray Hadley will take over the 2GB Breakfast Show as of Monday and then continue into his regular Morning Show to 11 am when Chris Smith will take over with an elongated Afternoon session till 3pm.

Often accused of being a workaholic, with hours like these (5½ from 5.30am to 11am, Mon-Fri) Hadley deserves the title of Australia’s hardest working presenter.

According to the Daily Telegraph's Sydney Confidential, Jones is set to make an announcement about his immediate future on the show tomorrow morning.
