Gunman demands to speak to Tony Abbott live on radio

The alleged hostage taker(s) at the centre of the siege taking place at the Lindt shop in Sydney’s Martin Place has reportedly demanded to speak with Prime Minister Tony Abbott, live on a radio station. There has been no confirmation of which one.

Ray Hadley on his number one program on 2GB said he is ready to facilitate such a discussion.

On 2UE, regular morning announcer Stuart Bocking has already gone on holidays. The station is fortunate to have the highly experienced Tim Webster filling in and doing an excellent job of covering the unfolding situation.

Hadley also reported that people inside the Lindt store have made contact with another radio station.

All stations that we’ve scanned both AM and FM across Australia have been giving the siege priority and constane updates over and above normal programming.
