The Grill Team interview Sydney Siege cameraman

The Triple M Grill Team interviewed Greg Parker this morning, the cameraman who remained in the Channel Seven building during the Sydney Siege.

The interview comes ahead of the Sydney Siege specials that both Channel Seven and Nine will be airing at 6:30 on Sunday.

Parker spoke to the trio about working with police snipers for the 17 hours and the toll it has taken on him.

He explained how he ended up in the situation, “They [the snipers] said, there’s a bit of risk here but are you happy to stay? We need you to play spotter for us. This is the most incredible insight we’re seeing.”

Noticing that Greg was still visibly shaken Gus Worland asked, “Are you doing ok?”

“It’s still really fresh and it hurts to go through it. I think of Katrina Dawson and Tori Johnson’s families non stop. 17 hours of watching people being tortured and having a gun to their head is going to hurt anyone.”

Parker also revealed a previously unreported demand made by Man Moris, that he wanted a helicopter full of fuel to land in Martin Place in order to flee the cafe after his other demands were met.
