Gerard Whateley on deck for 2018 AFL season kick-off

The ex-ABC broadcaster makes his SEN AFL debut this weekend.

1116 SEN is set to launch its 2018 AFL coverage this weekend with its all-new call team headed by Gerard Whateley.

Gerard will be joined by Peter Donegan, Kevin Bartlett, Tristan Foenander and Anthony Hudson along with expert commentators Nick Dal Santo, Daisy Pearce, Danny Frawley, Adam Cooney, Terry Wallace and Bob Murphy.

The new team will call the Saturday and Sunday afternoon slots throughout the home and away season and finals including the Grand Final.

SEN will also broadcast AFL Nation calls on Friday nights, Saturday twilight, Saturday night and each Sunday twilight game throughout the season.

The Crunch Time returns in 2018 each Saturday morning, with Gerard Whateley, Anthony Hudson, Dermott Brereton, Bob Murphy and David King between 11am-1pm, with the second hour of the program being heard across regional Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Southern New South Wales.

Sam Bingley, Chief Commercial Officer and General Manager 1116 SEN, said “SEN Football is a key pillar of the station’s new era and we are looking forward to welcoming new on-air talent to the broadcast this season.

“With the introduction of Gerard Whateley leading the team of play-by-play callers, the 2018 broadcast promises to be one of the strongest since the station’s inception.”
