Fairfax Radio Network’s Perth station 96FM has appointed Geoff Watts as Promotions and Marketing Director.

Watts has a 12 year career in radio and spent six years at 96FM working his way up to Promotions Manager until he left in 2008. He then joined DMG Radio as Integrated Projects Manager has also worked with Australian Radio Network as Campaign Manager. He was most recently Senior Campaign Response Executive at Triple M in Melbourne.

96FM and 6PR General Manager Martin Boylen said: “This is a fantastic appointment for 96FM. Geoff fully understands the direction in which we are heading and is keen to do all he can to ensure that we keep improving and consistently reach the number one position.

“The experience Geoff gained in Melbourne greatly impressed me and he was the stand-out candidate for this role. I know that he will not only assist in increasing ratings at 96FM, but will also help deliver our key point of difference in being able to deliver an informed, intelligent and influential brand of radio by providing valuable integrated revenue opportunities for advertisers.”

Watts said: “The opportunity to rejoin 96FM where I first worked in radio was too good to pass up. I’m really looking forward to joining the team and continuing 96FM’s success in the Perth FM radio market.”

He begins Monday June 30, 2014.
