Fine Music 102.5 to establish a Music Learning Centre for Children

Sydney radio station Fine Music 102.5, with help from the community, will contribute to young Australian musical talent through the establishment of a music learning facility – The Fine Music Learning Centre.

Fine Music’s vision is to develop a learning facility within the Station premises at St Leonards, to provide much needed opportunity for school groups and other young people with a passion for music.

Accordingly, Fine Music has launched an appeal throughout May and June to raise the $100,000 needed to make The Fine Music Learning Centre, a reality. Donations are tax deductible and details can be found at finemusicfm.com.

One of Fine Music’s initiatives for the Learning Centre is to develop a program aimed at Primary students in years 5-6 and High School students in years 7-8. The students will be split into small groups to record, present and develop their passion for music. This will be done through education, nurturing, guidance and exposure to fine music performance and broadcasting.

Australia’s pre-eminent conductor and music educator, Richard Gill, said, “As a volunteer organisation, Fine Music must count on music loving supporters to help make the dream a reality. Children’s involvement in musical activity has a profound effect on the development of the child’s general learning.  This Learning Centre represents a wonderful investment in Australia’s next generation of musicians.”

Gill’s deep commitment in developing young musicians and creating opportunities for them, is recognised worldwide.

“I would urge you to lend your support to this vital investment,” Gill said.

Fine Music 102.5 has for many years been a major contributor to the nurturing of young Australian musical talent through their Fine Music Young Virtuosi Awards and the Fine Music Young Composer Award, amongst other initiatives.
