Festival Mushroom Records Joins MusicPoint

MusicPoint, the web-based service for Record Companies to deliver their music to Radio Stations, has announced the addition of Festival Mushroom Records to the service.

Festival Mushroom has the largest catalogue of Australian recorded music, including Kylie Minogue, george, Motor Ace, 28 Days, Machine Gun Fellatio, The Androids and Amiel.

Festival Mushroom Records has chosen the MusicPoint cutting edge technology along with Warner Music, Universal Music, BMG Australia and EMI Music as “the only aggregated record industry delivery service in the world.” These companies now deliver their new music, artist’s profiles and priority songs directly to radio stations in a secure digital format.

National Radio Promotions Manager Andy Milne says: “The MusicPoint initiative has proven handy in the promotion of Australian artists to a broader radio audience, a cause which is championed by FMR. I am also looking forward to the next release of MusicPoint when not only music will be presented digitally but video’s for our priority artists as well. “

MusicPoint CEO, Peter Williams (pictured) told radioinfo: “MusicPoint provides the facility for FMR to project inventory, streamline distribution and instantly deliver their music to over 280 authenticated Radio Program and Music Directors Australia wide. It is great news for Australian radio and Australian music.”

Radio Station Program and Music Directors, those who make listening decisions for millions, now have “all new releases at their fingertips and are instantly listening to tracks, compiling the week’s hot songs in their own priority list and seamlessly transferring broadcast quality tracks ready for airplay.” MusicPoint also makes Radio Programmers’ workload more efficient by providing RCS Selector Songcards already formatted for Selector.

MusicPoint had its world launch in December 2002. It is simplifying music management, delivery and communication between the radio and record industry.

MusicPoint is a joint venture between Radio Computing Services of Australia (RCS); the world’s leading provider of broadcast software (rcsworks.com) and WiredEntertainment (wiredentertainment.com); providers of DRM infrastructure services to the entertainment industry.
