Female politicians, footy stars and Aussie of the Year to co-host Triple M Hobart

To celebrate International Women’s Day this Friday, Triple M Hobart will be airing a Hobart first radio special.

The Dave Noonan Show with Al Plath will kick the celebrations off with three hours of guest hosting with influential Hobart women including; Leader of the Opposition, Rebecca White; Channel 7 Tasmania Newsreader, Jo Palmer; and AFL Tasmania CEO, Trisha Squires.

The Triple M playlist will reflect the day with an all-female music playlist in breakfast until 9am and then double play features throughout the workday.

Throughout Friday, audio and video vignettes featuring locals from all walks of Hobart-life will air on radio and on Triple M’s social media pages discussing everything from what IWD means to them, to how they are celebrating it, to the other women that inspire them.

Some of the women who are supporting the radio special are Tasmanian ex-Senator Jacqui Lambie; Hobart Lord Mayor, Anna Reynolds; AFLW North Melbourne star, Nicole Bresnehan; Tasmanian Australian of the year, Bernadette Black and Speaker of the House, Sue Hickey.

Hosts Dave and Al are both excited to celebrate with Hobart on Friday morning: “It’s a really exciting opportunity to mix things up and with so many guests on the show on just one morning, there’s bound to be some chaos and fun while we’re spreading such an important message!” said Dave.

“It’s a positive message that’s really close to my heart and we know Hobart will respond well to it,” added Al Plath.
