Former ’60 Minutes’ presenter, Ellen Fanning, will fill in from today for Richard Glover on 702 ABC Drive.

Christine Kininmonth, of ABC TV’s ‘New Inventors’, is also set to cover a week later this month on drive.

In recent weeks, 702 has also used Steve Leibmann on mornings during holidays for Sally Loane and, of course, Wendy Harmer, who looks a certainty for mornings on DMG’s 95.3 FM (see radioinfo’s headline story).

Meanwhile, 702 continues the search for a permament replacement for Angela Catterns (also DMG bound) on breakfast.

Station boss, Roger Summerill, remains confident of finding the right person.

With Harmer seemingly well and truly out of the picture, a recent rumour had Ian Rogerson – only weeks into his breakfast partnership with Mikey Robins at Radio 2 – keen to come back.

Summerill scotched that by telling radioinfo: “The only one that hasn’t rung us is Ian. But, we’re thrilled with the number of talented people interested in the job.”
