Fairfax Radio Syndication’s satellite feed down

Fairfax Radio’s syndication service is experiencing a satellite outage, which is affecting many regional stations. Stations have been without network programming and have been extending local programs to fill the air time.

An email from Fairfax Radio Syndication’s Spencer Kirk advised relay stations:

“The satellite outage continues and, unfortunately, we do not have a time frame for a return to full service. We are currently testing a temporary system to allow delivery of two audio streams complete with pulses. If testing is successful, we’ll immediately advise…”

The national pre-fed news is being made available to all stations affected via the Digital Courier web site.

One regional station has told radioinfo: “It’s causing big problems… We could not run Neil Mitchell so had to extend our Breakfast show to 6 hrs locally, ie 9am to 12 midday.”
