As reported yesterday on radioinfo, Fairfax Radio’s 4BH in Brisbane has become Magic 882.
4BH completed its transition to the Magic brand following the 6am news.
The relaunch began with an historical vignette outlining the station’s history, which can be heard below.
The rebrand to Magic 882, brings the station in to line with Fairfax’ Melbourne brand.
Magic will play ‘the songs you know and love’ from the 1960s-1980s era.
The line up includes Moyd Kay, moving to Magic 882 breakfast from 4BC afternoons, Ian Keenan coming from 4KQ into Mornings and Greg Victor, making the move from Mornings to Drive.
It was a big day yesterday for Fairfax Brisbane. As well as the change to Magic 882, sister station 4BC also had it’s first day with it’s totally new Talkback line up.
News Talk 4BC and Magic 882 General Manager Anthony Frangi said listener response to the transition was already resoundingly positive:
“The Magic 882 brand reflects the modern Brisbane lifestyle and we are very excited about giving new direction and energy to one of this city’s much-loved stations. It was very important to us that we took our loyal listeners on the rebrand journey and early feedback is overwhelmingly positive. The Magic 882 brand is family friendly, upbeat, warm and generous. The new branding together with the songs our listeners love and the fantastic, local presenters we have lined up for 2014 means that Magic 882 will connect listeners with their city.”
I have never been to RADcliffe Speedway nor has Bill Gates or even the Bee Gees themselves for that matter but I am sure that they have all been to REDcliffe Speedway!
I have never met Don SEEcombe, not sure who he is but yes I did know Don Seccombe.
Shame how things are slipping on MAGIC 882 already from the moment they went to air! 4BH would not have allowed for names to be mispronounced.
No credibility at all! So much for “valuing and acknowledging” 4BH’s heritage.
The spin continues and yes there will be more casualties.
