Fairfax boosts radio revenue

A Fairfax Conference Presentation and Trading Update held this morning saw chief executive Greg Hywood announce a 9% increase in radio revenue for the company.

The result includes the recent merge with Macquarie Radio but excludes the performance of 96FM, which has been sold to ARN.

The figures represent the period between January 1 and April 26.

Overall, group revenue was up just shy of 1%, with a 7% increase in the Domain web portal contributing to the increase.

News wasn’t all good however, Publishing revenues and their Australian Community Media’s revenues declined by 7% and 8% respectively.
