Magic FM breakfast announcers Matt and Beth have taken a leaf out of the Prime Minister’s book and posted a good luck message to the Soccoroos.

PM Tony Abbott posted a video message online before the first Soccoroo’s game in Brazil last weekend, but unfortunately he got the name of the captain wrong. Instead of calling Mile Jedinak by his correct name, he called him “Mike” in the video message, which was hastily taken down when the gaff was discovered.

This came soon after the PM’s visit to Canada, where he mispronounced the country’s name as “Canadia.”

Matt and Beth refer to the muddling of words as ‘Abbotting’. This is their version of the message, with the original Abbott message below it.
