Ethnic radio neglected

An article in ‘The Ethnic Broadcaster’ criticised the lack of increased Federal Government funding for ethnic broadcasting, saying it will result in the end of funding for the AERTP training project next year unless extra funds can be found.

Reporting on the NEMBC’s April executive meeting in the quarterly journal, President George Zangalis said the organisation will refocus its work on three main priorities: Achieving greater recognition from government of the role of ethnic broadcasting; initiating greater involvement from young people; and assisting the sector’s ‘primary asset – ethnic broadcasters.’
