EON Sports turns off its digital radio broadcasts

EON Sports Radio’s digital radio feed has been switched off as the station attempts to restructure its business.

EON Sports leased DAB spectrum from ARN. Last week ARN was told the service was no longer required, so it has been turned off for now.

Two weeks ago EON Sports axed all its Australian presenters and flicked the switch to the network feed from TalkSport UK, which is still running on the station’s webstream.

The business is in the process of appointing an Administrator to decide whether it will fold or relaunch in a different form. The administrator is also looking into contracts and unpaid staff entitlements.

The Administrator will talk with creditors to decide whether it is viable to repay monies to them by winding up the company, or whether the business may be able to restructure, trade out of its difficulties and repay creditors gradually.

Some pages on the station’s website have been disabled and some banner advertising has been removed, showing white space.
