Elliot Yeo’s emotional reunion with his pet Border Collie on 96FM

Last week, West Coast Eagles player Elliot Yeo sadly said goodbye to his pet Border Collie and best mate, Winston… but just for one week while the canine went off to Bootcamp.

Winston needed “…a bit of training” for some behavioural issues, and Elliot felt it was time to make some changes, so with the help of 96FM Perth’s Botica’s Bunch for Breakfast, he enlisted All Breeds K9 Bootcamp in Perth.

While Elliot suffered separation anxiety, Winston was in his element, off enjoying socialising with other dogs, playgroup twice a day, his room serviced twice a day, and a super fun and engaging daily program to get his behaviour back in shape.

Being a Border Collie, Winston was a smart and generally well-behaved dog, but could do with some work in the areas of jumping, attention seeking, and behaving while on a lead.

Yesterday Elliot and Winston were reunited on 96fm Breakfast after their week apart.

So, how did Winston go?

Tim from All Breeds K9 Bootcamp explained, “He went well, made heaps of mates, he watched the (Eagles) game!”

The reunion saw Winston sneezing, which Tim explained was a display of “the ultimate in happiness” to see his beloved owner, far beyond a tail wag.

From here, Tim will do a handover to make sure Elliot has the skills and knowledge to give clear guidance and maintain Winston’s good behaviour. They’ll also be attending a monthly ‘dog club’ for ongoing support.
