Double J Artist In Residence: Iggy Pop

Each month, Double J brings you a unique Artist in Residence, inviting some of your favourite artists to curate a month long radio series, with a different theme, style or idea explored each week.

Recent guests have included Robert Forster, The Cat Empire, Henry Rollins, Adalita and Kevin Mitchell, and Double J is now excited to hand the reigns over to Iggy Pop

After kick-starting the US punk scene in the late 60s with The Stooges, Iggy’s career has gone on to span nearly 50 years of influential recordings and collaborations with everyone from Bowie, Debbie Harry and Peaches to Danger Mouse.

As your Artist in Residence in September, Iggy has hand-picked his favourite Iggy Pop Radio Shows from BBC6, playing tracks from his personal record collection, his own extensive catalogue and music from his friends, collaborators and idols. Each show travels through different eras of popular music, from the 60s until now, as Iggy offers his take on music history and introduces you to themes like ‘Sunny California’, ‘Revelations’, ‘Nitty Gritty’ and ‘In Praise of Beauty’.

Iggy Pop is Double J’s Artist in Residence from 3 – 5pm every Sunday in September.
