Dot Radio domain names explained #RDE17

How much? How to get it?

The recent launch of the .radio domain name is an important innovation for the world radio industry.

The domain will be controlled by the European Broadcasting Union, which had an information booth at this year’s RadioDays Europe.

Some key points:

You can get the domain name direct from the EBU, or from your domain registry.

It will be cheaper if you get it straight from the EBU, €22 for a private website and about €200 for a professional broadcast company.

There will be an approval process to control the registrations and ensure that those using it are legitimate stations or streaming services.

Full details in this short interview from the exhibition floor of RDE17.
