Doing radio changed the way Shaun Micallef performs his comedy

After ten years of working in insurance law as a solicitor in Adelaide, Shaun Micallef moved to Melbourne to pursue a full-time comedy career in 1993, after his wife insisted he try it or never talk about it again.

Micallef talked about his start in media in the latest You’ve Gotta Start Somewhere podcast from Rachel Corbett, also revealing how he worked out how to make an audience laugh at four years old, the one tactical move he’s made in his career and how doing radio changed the way he performs.

For two years, Micallef co-hosted Melbourne station Vega 91.5 FM’s morning program before the station changed format to eventually become Smooth FM.
